The Sino-America Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Professional Association (SABPA) invites abstracts for posters to be presented at the SABPA OC/LA 12th Annual Biomedical Forum in Irvine, April 29, 2017.

SABPA will provide an opportunity at this meeting for original successful work on biomedical and pharmaceutical research to be presented in a poster format for up to 8 authors. Poster presentations provide authors the opportunity to showcase and informally discuss their work with meeting attendees.

Submission Requirement

• Poster abstracts may be submitted by students currently enrolled in undergraduate, MS, PharmD or PhD program, as well as postdoctoral fellows or research scientists involved in the related fields of biomedical and pharmaceutical research.
• Abstracts should be submitted to SABPA (at ocla@gmail.com).  If SABPA accepts a poster presentation, it is understood that one of the authors will register and attend the meeting on April 29, 2017 to present their work.

Poster Abstract Format

All poster abstracts are limited to 300 words in length including title and should contain the following sections:

1. Objective
2. Methods Description
3. Results
4. Conclusions

Additional abstract requirement:

• The abstract should be clear, concise, and free of graphs, tables, and illustrations.
• Abstracts for posters previously presented at other forums/meetings within this past year may be submitted for consideration (please submit only the abstract and not the poster in this case)

Selection Criteria

All abstracts will be selected and ranked through a peer-review process by Forum Committee . The review panel will determine the quality of submission and will evaluate the abstract based on the following criteria:

• Originality of the research presented
• Quality of research methodology
• Clarity and completeness of the explanation of the research objectives
• Appropriateness of data collection and analysis
• Thorough reporting of data and results obtained
• Consistency of conclusion and objectives
• Significance and relevance to SABPA

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

1. Top 8 abstracts will each receive two complimentary registrations to the meeting, and at least one author will present the work for each abstract at the meeting on April 29, 2017. 

2. Abstracts ranked from #9 to #20 will receive one complimentary registration to the meeting.

3. All abstract submissions will be sent annual meeting information and be invited to attend the meeting.

4. There will be one Best Poster Award at the meeting, which will be voted by all meeting attendees on the meeting day. The award will be presented at the meeting.

PUBLICATION

• By submitting a proposal, you give SABPA the authority to electronically post your presentation, abstract, and learning objectives online, and to publish them in printed materials. You are responsible for editing your abstract and providing copy in final, print-ready form.
