Dr. Byron Shen is the CEO of Velox Biosystems, leading a highly innovative and entrepreneurial team to develop rapid and sensitive diagnostic products for UTI, cancer liquid biopsy, and bloodstream infection/sepsis.
Byron received his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley and an MBA from Univ. of Minnesota. Byron has 25 years of experience in the biomedical and healthcare space, from medical devices, pharmaceutical/biotech research, to clinical diagnostics. Byron’s work experience spans from Fortune 100 big company to startups.
Byron has a unique combination of technical and business background and expertise. He enjoys taking a scientific breakthrough from conception, through product development, to building a successful business. He is also a prolific essayist and writes on various topics on business, work, and life.
