BIOGRAPHY OF Jie Shen, PhD

Dr. Shen is Executive Director of Clinical Pharmacology at Allergan.  She received her Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from University of Southern California.  She has been a drug development professional for over 16 years having worked on small molecules, proteins, and combination products across many therapeutic areas.  She has represented Allergan in global regulatory interactions in US, China, Japan, LATAM, EU, and Australia.  As global project team leader directing phase 2 clinical programs, she is responsible for the project strategy, timeline, a $15 million budget, and communication with R&D management, as well as Key Opinion Leaders on clinical development plan and study design.  Her scientific interest lies in the area of clinical pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and drug metabolism, with a focus in ophthalmology, dermatology, and neurology.  She serves as a regular journal reviewer for IOVS, Pharmaceutical Research, Molecular Pharmaceutics, Drug Delivery, and is on the editorial board of Journal of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences.
